X-Lite 4 BETA Expiration

Postby Derek Jacobs » Tue Jul 20, 2010 8:27 am

Corporate is aware that the BETA has expired. A new version will be released soon.
Now would be a great time for those using the beta to make the purchase of our retail software.

Just FYI - I had one user on X-Lite 4 Beta. I had her change her date of her PC back to June, launch X-LIte, then change her date back to today's date. That was our workaround until I get a chance to install Bria 3 on her PC.

Derek (or anyone)-for the MAC users with no option to use the beta version which product do you recommend (eyebeam or bria)? The issue for this MAC user is no audio from the speakers/mic or a usb headset.

That's mean if I buy Bria I will use with my MAC 10.6.4, isn't it ?

I have to make sure before I spend money for Bria that it's work.

Hi, Derek.

Is it possible that the recent beta version could be extended for a while? I was using the beta version because X-Lite 3 doesn't work with Mac OS X 10.6.*. (Audio problems, as another person described here.)

I work for the Univ. of Michigan and my department is going through reorganization, which is always a confusing time. While management agrees they should buy a Bria license for me, they can't decide who should order it or from which budget the payment should be made. Yes, I know this isn't your problem exactly, but I'm stuck and it really stinks that X-Lite didn't give any warning of the coming expiration. If I had been given a week's warning, I could have told management here that I was about to lose connectivity and remind them to buy that license.

Hi Les.\
The existing beta cannot be extended. I'm sorry.
A new version will be out soon.

Could you try using X-Lite 3.0 for a while? Why do you absolutely have to use 4.0 Beta? Even if you're running Windows 7 64-bit, you can make 3.0 work.

Derek, I have Mac users running 10.6, for whom 4.0 beta works but 3.0 doesn't. When will the new 4.0 beta be available?

thx, -m

My best guess would be 2 weeks.
It could be longer.

I am using X-Lite 3 build 56125, but it crashes as soon as I want to send video. (I can receive video ok, though). Tried on Windows 7, xp 64 and xp 32 and it crashes in all of them when I start the video.

Because Counterpath is preparing the beta 4 I guess there won't be a new build of version 3 to fix this problem?

Thanks!
