I've posted a brief tutorial on Wireshark here:
viewtopic.php?f=15&t=8012

Remember... you are using free BETA Software on a platform that is not officially supported. ;)

Ok Derek, I have sent support a Wireshark log. From my side, I opened a wireshark capture, made a call to voicemail, waited till it hung up on me, stopped the capture, and sent it. Let me know if there's anything else you'd need.

After reviewing the Wireshark log Derek has kindly let me know that the calls are dropping because the VOIP provider is not sending an RTCP signal. I emailed the provider to ask if they are able to turn this signal on, because if not, there is no configuration fix available. It would seem that turning off the requirement for RTCP is a feature that may be available in future realeases.

Hi every body

I have my Wireshark functionnal now under Win7 thanks to Gerald Combs from Wireshark support!

I had to download the latest "in developpement version" of Wireshark 1.2.3 SVN (30850) to get it functionnal on my Win 7

As Derek Jacobs ask me, i have just sent my Wireshark log of my call which drop off after 24sec!

My SIP provider is Justvoip (betamax provider)

Thanks for your help

Hi everybody

I have just tried to downgrade to Xlite 3.0 53621 on my Win 7 Pro and it just perfectly works!!!

My calls are not drop off as on Xlite 4.0 beta

I called lanline, cellphone from my Xlite 3.0 (Win 7 Pro), and it works!!!! Yes!!!

Video works too, however Contacts do not work very well. It stay "gray" and have no access at all to my contacts

I could Import some Vcard but can not edit my contacts

But, what it is amazing, when you dial a number, you see the name of your contact saved in you contact list!!!

Waiting for Xlite 4.0 fully functionnal!!!

Edited: Sorry, you have to "look for" your contact and then you can edit!

Any word yet on when the RTPC issue will be fixed in the Mac beta? This is happening to us as well and it's kind of a hot topic. Thx!

Just as a follow up, I let my voip provider (callcentric) know about the need for the RTCP signal, and they clarified that this is not being provided. However, it is not going to be provided either. Thus the use of this beta version ends here, and I'm back to using version 3, without contacts under windows 7.

Drop of a line confirmed.

I am playing around with openSER 3.0 server. I am monitoring traffic. This is i get from X-Lite after 30 seconds:
Code: Select all

Reason: SIP;description="RTP or RTCP inactivity".

all this time i am talking happy. Both phones are behind NAT. My server fixing messages so clients connect their RTP stream to proxy. I guess that X-Lite want to see RTP activity from IP address of remote UA, not proxy.

Do you have RTCP activity?
That is the likely cause for the drop.

I am using rtpproxy, traffic redirected to a server. I have UDP traffic going via SIP proxy. What is going via UDP? RTCP or RTP?
There is no settings for this time outs in 4 Beta. I was able to configure v 3

I am using similar config, so i am not alone ;)http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Kama ... d+RTPProxy
